The airport reported, that the runway lights are not continuously turned on during the night and switched on only upon arriving or departing traffic. There had been a communication problem between tower and crew, therefore the runway lights had not been turned on.
Passengers reported the crew announced they could not see the runway lights and therefore went around. After arrival border police mentioned there had been a fire alarm at the tower.
