Jungs!

So you feel the best way to discuss this private and business-confidential email between Orbx and its press recipients is by publishing an ‚open letter‘ on public websites? Using Tino’s blog as one example:
http://www.fsvisions.nl/open-brief-aan…a-ceo-van-orbx/
http://www.fsvisions.nl/wp-content/upl…tterEN-orbx.pdf
(I have included translated images for Ed Correia’s benefit). To quote your letter: „The popularity of Orbx is not simply caused by great products – extensive reports by news sites are, to a large extent, also reasons for the success of your company."
I think you all have too high an estimate of the impact your reviews have on Orbx sales. I buy Porsche cars because they are the best sport cars in the world. I buy Apple devices because of their beautify and craftsmanship and because they just work. In the same way, people buy Orbx products because they are the best quality, have very few bugs, are developed with passion, come with world class support, are updated for free and every single release is of a consistently high quality.
People don’t wait until a website or blog posts a review before they decide to purchase Orbx products. And certainly they don’t wait for print media which always lags 90-120 days behind. I know this for a fact, because 90% of the year one sales of any Orbx products happen *before* any reviews are published, with the exception of exclusive preview Twitch broadcasts. And even those broadcast are measured in dozens of views, not even hundreds. If they want to see our products in action usually there are a dozen YouTube videos available within days of launch. The world has changed; we don’t even spend money on making our own videos anymore, because there’s just no need to do it.
Our customers are our biggest and most valuable assets, and they are the best advertisers for us. Their loyalty to Orbx has been achieved through a decade of hard work and respect for them. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship.
Sorry gentlemen, your very immature public action has made my mind up.@Ed, there will be no further free preview copies of Orbx products in any form forfsmagazin.de, simflight.de, flusinews.de, and fsvisions.nl
Perhaps if you retract this ‚open letter‘ from your websites with an equally public apology I may consider your future access to free Orbx review copies.
In the meantime, there’s nothing to prevent you from opening accounts at FSS and purchasing copies for review in your publications. We have FTX Germany North being released in the new year, I am sure you readers will be most interested in that product.
All the best!
