This beta improves the wind directional targets for the simulator above FL200.

If there is room, the Local Weather, Destination Weather, and all Alternate Weather report windows now display the targets for the upper (above FL200) ambient temperature (SAT), ambient wind direction and speed, also the current ambient air temperature and TAT inside the simulator. The idea being, you can now use these report windows to monitor the temperatures and ablove FL200 compare the target temperatures and winds with the actual.

The Weather Download dialog now includes an option for 'Force Sim Friendly GRIB Wind Targets', this option should be enabled along with the Wind Stabilisation option in the Wind Smoothing dialog on any system experiencing troublesome wind shifts.

Ich bin mit Opus ja eigentlich recht zufrieden, nur habe ich bei mir diese blitzartigen Wetterwechsel wenn sich das Wetter aktualisiert. Habt ihr das auch?

Außerdem sind in der Nacht bei Nebel die Wolken purpur. Ich glaube zwar nicht das es an dem Wettertool liegt aber beschissen sieht es trotzdem aus:(.

Das ist das so genannte LWE was immer weiter mit den BETA Versionen aktualisiert und eingefügt wird. Es muss erstmal eine Basis mit dem Wind geschaffen werden, danach wird immer weiter das LWE entwickelt.

Ja hab ich leider auch, teilweise wirklich heftige Wind und Temparatur Wechsel. Die wirken sich bei der NGX bei mir in den bekannten "S-Schlänkern" aus.

Das hab ich nicht, das wird eher an deinen Wolkentexturen liegen. Ich nutze HDE2 von Pablo Diaz.

Edit: Sehe gerade in den Change Notes für 2.70 BETA das Wind stabilisations Problem verbessert wurde. Morgen mal testen

In this release of OpusFSX the LWE now depicts snow or rain even when no clouds specified in METAR due to a vertical visibility restriction, at present this is achieved using a precipitation bearing cloud layer above the low lying fog. A future release will interpolate the unknown cloud from the sorrounding area.

The Local, Destination, and Alternate Weather reports now show FL200 target temp and winds when at lower altitudes. Finally, the Spy window will now remain open for up to 10 minutes.

In this beta all distances, apart from visibility, within the weather report windows are now displayed in both km and nautical miles (nm). Previously they were all displayed in km and statute miles.

The LWE now ensures the METARs are no more than 5 minutes out of date for your specified Destination and Alternate airfields.

This beta includes the initial prototype of the 'Bump Aircraft' DHM option which when airborne will bump the aircraft in unison with the turbulent motions. The Turbulent Motion or Turbulent Bump options must be enabled for the effects to be seen.

This
release is virtually identical to the above beta with the addition of
enabling the Bump Aircraft option as part of the defaults for the DHM
dialog. The software has been brought to a release version in
preperation for starting a new Beta Development Cycle.

This beta introduces a new Lower Atmosphere Weather Report along with lower atmosphere wind and temperature targets in an attempt to nurse FSX/P3D up though the climb to FL200 and finally back down in the descent from FL200 to assist the sim to recovery the true surface wind conditions at your destination or alternates. During the climb and descent you should expect the sim to remain ahead of the lower altitude wind targets.

I have also reintroduced a slightly modified form of the Big Brother monitoring above FL200 which attempts to kick an errant wind direction back towards its target. Please note, the wind and temperature targets are always specified to FSX but act only as guidlines for FSX to try and follow. These targets are re-evaluated during every weather update, essential considering now the LWE actually contains over five times the amount of data FSX or P3D can handle at any one time.

To test this beta please set all Weather dialog defaults with GRIB enabled, Sim Friendly GRIB Winds enabled, and Wind Stabilisation enabled, also ensure you have the default Recovery Altitude of 19000 feet set. The RA settings may even be removed soon as the LWE does everything automatically.

Also ich weiß ja nicht. GRIB Daten hin oder her. Wenn ich die Daten aus dem Flugplan mit den tatsächlichen Werten vergleiche, kommt es zwar von der Richtung her meist hin, aber die Geschwindigkeiten variieren enorm.
Da sind 30kn aus Nord-West vorhergesagt und ich bekomme 122kn auf den Hintern geblasen. Das wirft die gesamte Kalkulation durcheinander. Wenn man dann noch ein wenig EXTRA mitnimmt, ist man ruckzuck überm max Landingweight oder man bricht im anderen Fall die Final Reserve an. Beides uncool!
Habt ihr keine Probleme damit?

Nö, also so enorm wars bei mir aber noch nie, ich mein klar, manchmal passt die Richtung net ganz und es sind vielleicht auch mal 10-15 Knoten zuviel oder zu wenig, aber mehr isses auch nicht. Bin mittlerweile schon ne Menge Legs geflogen und kam auch mit dem Fuel aus den Flugplänen immer klar.

This beta improves I have changed he big brother update frequencies above FL200 have been changed to force a quick 'first' weather update when the sim is seen to drift too far from its wind targets.

The lower and upper wind targets have been changed for both the Sim Friendly and the raw GRIB forecasted winds. An optional cruise altitude setting has been added to the weather dialog to allow the user to specify a reference cruise altitude for the Sim Friendly GRIB wind adjustment, any cruise altitude less than 20000 feet will reference the forecasted tropopause height.

All weather updates when on the ground will now give precedence to the specified destination and alternate METARs provided they are not in the immediate vicinity (i.e. not within approximately 10 miles of you).

Real surface winds are now always depicted as 'Wind XXX at XX knots' within the weather reports, stabilised winds are now always depicted using the phrase 'Static XXX/XX' whenever they are applicable.

The calculation and preperation of low level wind and temperature targets changed. Surface wind recovery is now enabled after the aircraft climbs above 19250 feet irrespective of the current RA setting.

The delay between camera view display commands has been increased slightly. The Spy window will now remain open for 10 minutes.

In this beta the forced recovery is now enabled seperately once the aircraft climbs above the configured Forced Recovery Altitude + 250 feet. This mod should help those that stop and restart OpusFSX when in flight with the Wind Stabilisation option enabled.

This beta also introduces wing flex turbulence effects when the simulator's Settings - Display - Weather 'Disable turbulence and thermal effects on aircraft' option is not set (i.e. make sure it is not disabled) and the 'Advanced Animations' option is enabled in Settings - Display - Graphics.

At high altitudes and in low turbulence the wing flex turbulence is set to occassional. Wing flex will become more noticeable at low level, when flying in cloud layers, and when descending etc.

Ich habe sie eigentlich FS-intern abgestellt. Grund sind die seltsamen Thermiken im Approach auf manche Airports.

Ja, aber da es wie gesagt nur einige wenige Airports sind, kann man sie ja anstellen, wenn man nicht dorthin fliegt.
